Christmas presents – at the height of summer
Etsy, the global marketplace for creative goods, offers handmade, individual pieces and vintage products from around the world – and for every occasion. To gain visibility for the brand, its unique products and for its sellers over Christmas, Etsy compiled its Autumn/Winter Lookbook with trends and curated design products for the festive season. As high-quality print media typically have long publication lead times, the Lookbook and its respective products are presented as early as July. That is why we slip into our roles as industrious Christmas elves and send out invitations to a “Christmas Showroom” – in the heat of a Berlin summer.
Strategy & Concept
In the loft of an old Berlin building we produced a grand banquet for journalists and influencers and whisked them away to the colourful and inspiring world of Etsy. In place of a festive Christmas roast on the large banqueting table we draped items from the Lookbook as showpieces – a feast for the eye. The meeting of high summer temperatures and handmade present trends abruptly produced a joyful anticipation of a white Christmas. This paradoxical feeling exemplified the variety of the curated design marketplace and its worldwide community.
Making it festive: event communications
From Christmas banquet event concept and sending of festive invitations to the angelic accompaniment of journalists and bloggers on the day of the event, Public Link supported the launch of the Etsy Autumn/Winter Lookbook with all relevant activities and the necessary festive spirit.
