I’ve already mentioned being completely spoilt for choice as an intern in Berlin this last week – #BerlinFashionWeek and #InternationaleGrüneWoche have been keeping us all very busy at the public link #LaunchAcademy!
Wednesday’s event was the Bright Tradeshow XX on Brunnenstraße, which was a great opportunity to learn about an innovate platform through which brands, both famous and unknown, have the chance to present their work to a range of clientele – precisely what us at public link are all about! With skateboarding and skate culture as the key theme connecting the many brands present, I was certainly not cool enough to be there, but luckily they let me in anyway and off we went…
The big players in the skate world were all present, such as Obey, Hype, Element, Carhartt, Burton and many more, giving the whole event a sense of validation. However, there was also a huge quantity of younger brands around that were clearly relishing the opportunity to display their (largely fantastic) work – such as the Kiel-based Shisha Brand.
As a foreigner in Berlin, this tradeshow was yet another confirmation of a wonderfully open and accepting city it is, in which there is so much space for creative, innovative people to flourish and succeed.
