public link takes journalists on a moonwalk

Together with Iceland Express, selected journalists explored the largest moonscape on earth – an experience of quite a special kind for travelers and nature lovers.

On July 21, 1996 a man first walked on the moon. However, hardly anyone realizes that the Apollo 11 crew frist tried out their "giant leap for mankind" in Iceland. The fascinating volcano landscape at Askja was an ideal practice ground for the American astronauts.

To celebrate this momentous day in history, forty years on, Iceland Express offered some chosen journalists the chance to step in the footsteps of Neil Armstrong and become acquainted with the island during a three-day tour.

public link was responsible for the organization of the journalists´ tour, from the initial media contacts and the planning of the program, through to the supervision on Iceland.
